Prep Time: 20 minutes Cook: 10 minutes Ready In: 30 minutes Servings: 8

INGREDIENTS:

  • 2 pounds large shrimp, peeled and deveined and butterflied
  • 8 ounces sharp Cheddar cheese, cut into strips
  • 3 fresh jalapeno peppers, seeded
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon Old Bay Seasoning™, or to taste
  • 2 pounds thick cut bacon

DIRECTIONS:

Cut the jalapeno peppers into thin strips. Place a strip or two of jalapeno pepper and cheddar cheese inside each shrimp.

Sprinkle the stuffed shrimp garlic powder and Old Bay Seasoning™. Wrap each shrimp with a slice of bacon and secure with a toothpick. Thread shrimp onto the skewers

Grill over medium high heat for 10 to 15 minutes, or until firm.

To help make clean-up easier, use aluminum foil to cook the shrimp evenly and keep them moist. Shrimp lovers and bacon lovers are sure to go wild over this culinary combination, so be sure to make enough for everyone!

Don’t worry if you don’t have every ingredient exactly as it’s indicated either. You can substitute regular or thin-cut bacon if you don’t have thick cut, or prefer to cook the shrimp using another variety of bacon—even turkey bacon. Also keep in mind that you’ve got another amazing option to turn these shrimp into sensational kabobs just by adding some grilled vegetables like mushrooms, sweet yellow onion and strips of bell pepper, plus cherry tomatoes to the thin slices of jalapeno. Get creative with the spices and switch them out with some of your favorites, and you’ll definitely have a recipe you can truly call your own!
